Anyone know how to set the screen resolution and refresh rate for HDTV Moniter?

I have my 42 inch LCD HDTV hooked up to my computer via HDMI, Does anyone know how to set the display settings, resolution, screen refresh rate so I can get the best picture? The way it is I can almost see everything okay but I wish I could make things larger with it not fitting on screen right??

  1. Its a TV? it should be set to 1080p right away then. I have a 40 inch LCD and hook it up to my computer via VGA cable and it comes out in 1080p.
  2. Make sure you have the latest driver for your graphics adapter. Set your resolution to 1920 x 1080 and refresh to 60Hz. 70Hz might work or might not. Depends on the TV.
