What breed mix is my sweet pup?
Meet my baby, Mistletoe! http://pics.livejournal.com/lady_nova/gallery/0000r4ha She's a mutt, who was sold to us as a Yorkie. We bought her as a tiny puppy, and have had her for eight years. If I had to guess, I would think she is part Yorkie, but I would like some input from the general public on what breeds they think contributed to the birth of my sweet pup. As far as behaviour, she has shown 'herding' behaviour towards my cat and other dog, which we thought was strange. She has a tendency to run off if given the opportunity (which we take every precaution to not give her). She is a medium sized dog, about 25lbs. She also has somewhat of a prey drive when it comes to wild animals, most specifically rabbits. She is terrified of loud noises (fireworks, thunder, etc.) and is extremely social; she will cuddle up and fall asleep right next to you. She exhibits no signs of violence whatsoever, never bites, and hardly ever growls or barks.

- She looks like she has some spaniel in her, in addition to the Yorkie. She's very cute, no matter what breed she is!
- That dog is ugly she is a poodle don't be dumb.
- She looks to me like she is part cocker spaniel. CUTE!!!!! Nice name too. She looks like she is good tempered.
- She's cute! If you ask me, she's rather large for a yorkie... She looks like she has some spaniel in her... whether it be cocker or cavalier.... She definately has the yorkie... but maybe has some other terrier as well... atleast she's a good dog!
- I think she is Yorkie/Parson(Jack) Russell. but, whatever she is, its adorable! There you go! She would be called a Yorsell Terrier
- First of All she is ADORABLE.. She looks like she could have some Cocker or Cumberland Spaniel in Her mixed with Silky Terrier.. Regardless of Her Lineage with such a Sweet Loving Soulful Face She Is Perfect..
- She is part king charles cavalier
- It helps if you have pics of her standing. Mostly these are what I call 'toupee' shots. Taken from an aerial view and looking down on the toupee. :) In dog rescue, I use a lot of genetics and breed information to sort out the sort of mixes we see. It can be just all speculation though. :) She's very pretty. She looks long in body and rather short in leg so if she is part yorkie, the other part might be wire coated doxie because that would drop her ears too by making them heavier and set to the side of her skull and would also donate the genes from both parents necessary to support a longer coated progeny (which is recessive so needs to be paired to be expressed). The coat color also synchronizes because neither the wire coated doxie nor yorkie will have much in the way of white spotting pattern, and I don't see any white markings. But I can't really make out her proportions, muzzle shape. Yorkies are terriers so prey drive can come from there. Doxies also are persistent when they find their prey's scent and will go into the ground after it (which is why their legs are short). Anyway, that's a guess from the toupee shots.
- LMAO!!! "YORKIE"??? LOL!!! I'm as much yorkie as it is!!! A touch of spaniel-a dash(har har) of dachs. & a TON of MUTT/MONGREL!!! You folks don't know anything about dogs,do you? "JRT"??? LOL! Uh,nope.
- aww she's lovely. the pic of her on her throne (the toilet) is great.
- She looks as if she has some spaniel in her or maybe even a wire haired daushound, but the herding behaivor might come from the silky or australian silky terrier they look very similar to yorkies
