How to build a custom web form / web feature?

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to create a form or gadget for my website where you type in i.e. 123 and then the form displays a picture that corresponds with 1, a picture that corresponds with 2 and so forth. Is that possible for a non-professional like me?

1. If you know how, yes. If you don't, no. There are many ways to do it. Use a Javascript function to turn divs on and off. Use PHP to create the page with the graphics. Find a hit counter that uses graphic files for the numbers and see one way it's done.
