My Funny Picture

Is it just me, or does the News purposefully put weird pictures of people?

Now I noticed that the times I watch the News, when they are reporting on a specific person; they show us a weird, or awkward picture of him/her. I notice this happens mostly on political issues, but it occurs in other topics too. I also find these occurrences in commercials and other advertisements. But more specifically, the news. They almost always show a awkward picture of someone that they are reporting on. Here is an example: http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu121/dumpetesr/xczzxczxc.jpg Now yes, I made this picture on a program, but it is just an example of what I see on the news. I couldn't find a picture that legitimately shows what im asking. But I find this happening all the time while watching the news. Have you seen this too? Or is it just me? And if you have, why do they do that? Why can't they find a normal picture of the person they are reporting on?

Public Comments

  1. The media have nothing to report on except bad news, so a weird picture might get someone to tune in. Pathetic people-the media.
  2. It's deliberate and often politically inspired. Printing an unflattering picture of someone is a form of propaganda.
