My Funny Picture

Do you think people who steal pictures are insecure?

It's an odd question, yes, but I recently found out my best friend stole some girl's pictures to talk to a guy we know. Initially, I thought it was weird but she told me she just really wanted to get to know him but was afraid he'd blow her off. Then it struck me - a lot if people on the web do the same. Do you think it's craziness or insecurity?

  1. probably both
  2. In no particular order: Insecure, immature, low self esteem and a liar. One might even use the word thief however, I think there is another term for using another photo and pretending to be that person.
  3. That is a bit creepy, to pretend to be someone else just to talk to a guy. He's gonna find out soon enough? Most people probably do it either because they don't like the way they look, or for confidentiality. Who knows
  4. Both.
  5. i think it definitely varies but in most cases its probably insecurity people say that the appeal of the internet is that you get to hide behind your computer i guess this is just a variation, people hiding behind another face... help me? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101223211745AANEgSK
  6. All she (and other ppl) are doing is showing that they have lack of self-confedence(sp)
  7. If you now sense some distance with your best friend, you might have found your answer there. I'm guessing that you lost a little bit of respect for her. Stealing, at best, is immoral and in many cases, it's a crime punishable by law. For one to steal from a friend, family or an employer is also a violation of trust which can then never be fully regained. No, it's not craziness. Many thieves are otherwise clinically sane. They could be insecure but, in fact, it takes some kind of fortitude, albeit dubious, to steal from someone.
