Trying To Remember The Name Of A Strange Children's Book?

I barely remember a thing from it,seeing as how I don't recall looking at it since I was four or five (I'm 17 now). The illustrations looked like something out of the "....From The Black Lagoon" collection. The only thing I recall are two strange pictures. One of a kid being sucked down a drain and another involving an escalator. It was really weird,and use to give me the creeps. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, do you recall the name and the author? Thanks.
