what are breeds of puppies that never get big? and can be a "purse puppy"?
i want to see some pics of tiny dogs that dont grow big. and the kinds u could probably find at an animal shelter.? think tiny and cute! (i ve edited this part)ive been getting answers that say i want to use it as a fashion asccessorie, its nice u care about propor animal love, and I do NOT want to use it as "just an accessory". im going to volenteer at animal shelters, and maybe become a vet, i love animals since i have cats and fish currently, so i hope u dont get the wrong idea, ive never had a dog and i really want one. (to love) more details- gosh i just wanted it to be as small as a purse puppy, because i have cats, and i would not want a big dog when i have cats, guys i dont really want to put it in a purse! i wouldnt be allowed to even if i did want to.

- Sigh. You probably shouldn't even consider getting a dog since you are getting it for a fashion accessory. Unless you want Sh*t in your purse. Good luck.
- You can find them on petfinder.com they have chichuahuas and the liek on there from rescues and shelters.
- Chihuahua look at paris hilton she caries her dog in her purse
- Excellent post, Wendy.....dogs are NOT fashion accessories.
- Please keep in mind that most small teacup breeds have a lot of health problems; do not just get a dog for a fashion accessory, especially if you aren't going to be willing to give it the proper care.
- Your best bet is to go with a Yorkie ( toto dog) I have had one before and she weighed 5 lbs. Very loyal and loving....go to www.petfinder.com and rescue one. It may not have papers, but atleast she can be frilly and have lots of love!
- umm their are many; affenpinscher, brussels griffon, chihuahuas, chinese crested, english toy spaniel, italian greyhound, japanese chin, maltese, manchester terrier(toy) miniature pinscher, papillion(very cute) pekingese, pomeranian, poodle(toy) pugs(common heart problems) shih tzu(also very cute) silky terrier, yorkshire terrier. also if u go to the animal shelter check the size of the paws to see how big the dog is going to be( big paws means it's going to be a big pup, small paws, smaller dog, all the dogs i listed are the smallest breeds
- Look for "tiny toys" or "teacup" varieties of popular breeds. Check gwlittle.com for info. on caring for tiny dogs.
- Well put, Wendy! Dogs eat, whine, cry, defecate, urinate, drool, and become neurotic, snipy, intolerable messes when carried around in purses & treated like babies. And Danielle H - 'Toto" from the WIZARD OF OZ was a Cairn Terrier.
- why don't you just go get a stuffed animal to put in your purse. you'll look just as dumb.
- Toy Aussies are adorable.. and small but maybe not as small as you want GET a teacup chihuahua!!!!longhaired
- Everyone else made really good points. I have a teacup Shih Tzu, and she weighs about 6-7 pounds, but in getting a teacup/miniature anything, you are at risk of health problems due to inproper breeding to get a smaller puppy. If you want a healthy dog that's gonna stay little, go with a chihuahua or a maltese.
- GO to akc.org and click on the "toy group" you will see all the different breeds in this group and you will also find out there size, personality traits, etc. etc....... go now
- U know you could get a little Chihuahua it could fit in a purse
- a teacup yorky and a teacup chihuahua
- one recommendation since you have clarified that you are in fact not going to put a dog in your purse, The Miniature Pinscher, Italian Greyhound, Toy Manchester Terrier are not small enough for a purse, The IG is never going to be that small unless you have a suitcase. They average 15 inches. The Pin and Toy MT are about 11 to 12 inches. I can tell you from experience. I have an IG and bred Min Pins for over 40 years. Tea cup dogs and Chi's are about the smallest you can find that would be in the area of something that could fit in a purse though should never be done.
