why dose my trphy cam take 3,800plus pics but no animal pics?

its been hot but two times my one cam takes excessive pics with nothing there but the woods. 3,800 pics

1. If it relies on an infra red trigger, any puff of warmer air into it's sensor zone will be enough to fire it. There'll be a built in delay but another quick change in temperature once it resets will fire it again. If there's an area of hot rock, lit by the sun, nearby and your camera is in a cooler wooded area, the slightest breeze would do it. It's a change in temperature it's looking for, not an animal...it's just that usually an animal IS the change in temperature. Or it's faulty.
