My Funny Picture

Can anyone with a good judgment of cameras give me a review for this camera?

I'm looking to trade up my camera for another one. Unfortunately I can only spend up to $100. I need someone who knows something about cameras to critic this camera. I would also like if someone will recommend another camera but it must be $100 or less. Here is the camera i'm looking at: ◦12.0-mega pixel CCD Captures high-resolution images up to 4000 x 3000 pixels. ◦3x optical/5x digital/12x total zoom For precise zooming and accuracy. ◦3" color LCD touch-screen monitor For easy use and a clear display. ◦Face tracking technology Isolates subjects in-frame and optimizes conditions to take the best pictures of friends and family. ◦High ISO sensitivity (up to 3200) For improved image capture in low-light conditions. Antishake image stabilization reduces image blur caused by camera shake and vibration. ◦Multiple shooting modes Include auto, movie, program and preset modes (soft skin, sports, candlelight, fireworks and sunset) so you can capture shots in the right setting. ◦Autofocus With single-point AF option for the clearest picture possible. ◦Additional shooting modes Include continuous shooting mode and creative RGB color effect mode, plus normal, black-and-white, vivid, sepia and negative for artistic effects. ◦Auto, custom and preset white balance controls Help achieve natural tones under different lighting conditions. ◦Built-in auto flash With red-eye reduction for natural-looking eyes in portraits. ◦JPEG digital still and MPEG movie recording formats For multiple filming options. ◦32MB internal memory With Secure Digital/Secure Digital High Capacity slot (media not included). ◦>> Store more photos! Find compatible memory cards in our Memory Center! ◦Playback modes Include single image, slideshow and movie clip. ◦PictBridge compatible So you can connect your camera to a compatible printer and print photos without connecting to your computer.

  1. Sounds like it will be fine. It has good resolution, and at 4000x3000 you can make up to about an 18"x24" print at 150dpi with no loss of image quality. But to really get the best out of a camera, even one as automatic as this one, you need to learn about exposure and how to meter and about depth of field.
