When my acne goes will my face look 'better' and more attractive?
Ok I know it may be a really stupid question. But I've been battling acne for 3 years now (since i was 16) and I've had to deal with so much crap in terms of trying to meet girls or anyone for that matter. And i get a lot of paranoia but at the same time things happen that show there isn't something quite right with my appearance. For example I talk to local girls on facebook, and get to know them VERY well, and they give me compliments that I am hot etc after looking at my photos on facebook, and then one girl i met recently deleted me off facebook and then told one of her mates how she was almost sick. But with this paranoia i take a lot of photos of myself when i get the chance to see how I am looking (as i kind of don't trust the mirror because to me I look fine in the mirror) and my face seems to change so much in different lighting. Now i know this happens to people anyway, with acne or not, but to me my face changes more than the average person and I'm really scared and don't trust family or friends that I'm a handsome boy with a bad bout of acne, especially after what happened with this girl recently. So I'm wondering does acne with all the red-ness that goes with it change my appearance quite drastically? And once my acne is cleared up will my face generally be more attractive and then i can see myself properly in pictures instead of it to me always changing? Because I cannot understand why this girl seemed to be very physically attracted to me, then when she met me she deleted me off facebook etc. I don't take pictures from weird angle, I put the camera on self timer and put it on a shelf infront of me or something asif someone is taking it of me in a natural picture so that I'm not just gettin 'flattering angles' or is the pictures still just making me look good in certain ones? Any answers here would be very appreciated I'm feeling down about this because I just want to know if there is some sort of issue with my actual face rather than just because its the acne. Thanks everyone.

- a pic would be easier
- yes i will change the look of your face.. people are not seeing what your face looks like there seeing what the acne is doing to your face. the redness being gone alone will make you look better. i mean people have acne so what.. some are more paranoid some are fine with it i mean i don't have red acne nor do i get pimples i get really bad black heads and i feel self conscious i mean that girl obviously was not a vary nice person and should never have let the appearance of something like that affect how she was attracted to you. you seem nice just worried this will have an effect on how you meet girls. it will look a lot better with any amount of any type of acne related symptom goes away. be it redness or th actual pimples. don't give up see a dermatologist or just try some diff products that look promising don't let this chick hurt your opinion of your self that bad.. she was apparently more into how you looked then how she felt.
- While I can't tell you whether I find you attractive or not as I have no pic to go by, I can offer you a solution for your acne if you are interested... With regards to the girl who deleted you, forget about her. People are sometimes incredibly shallow and you don't need to waste your time with her. Just follow this regime twice a day (morning and night) and I promise you will see a huge difference in your skin. Plus all the products are cheap and can be purchased at Target. I know it may seem like a lot of steps but I figure it's worth trying if you really are struggling with acne and haven't found ways to fix it yet. The problem with most of the products out there in the market is that they contain detergent which will remove dirt, oil, and makeup but it also strips your skin of water. It's not labelled as detergent in the ingredients but it's called Sodium Laureth Sulfate or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. When your skin is dehydrated, it breaks down more quickly and will cause you to age faster because you loose elasticity in your skin (starts to droop and wrinkle). That's why most skin care is a huge marketing ploy. They sell you stuff that appears to work so you use it but then you begin to age prematurely so they can sell you wrinkle creams and things of that nature much faster than you ordinarily would need them... While acne can be a hormonal thing, it can definitely be lessened if you follow these steps. If it really seems like too much, at least do step 4 which should help a lot. 1. Get a cream cleanser that is NOT water activated. I have one I got from Target called Boots Botanics Organic Nourishing Cleanser which is $7.99 and it works great. Simply squeeze out an amount about the size of a quarter into your DRY hands and rub it together then onto your DRY face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. You can then rinse it off with water or a damp washcloth but make sure you don't use any water when you are working this into your face at first. I know this sounds weird but almost all the cleansers that are water-activated contain detergent and that is what causes our skin to become dehydrated. When skin is lacking water, it compensates by producing more oil. The detergent also causes blackheads because it leaves a residue on the skin that clogs the pores. 2. Use an alcohol-free toner on two cotton pads and wipe off your face in downward and outward strokes. Toner will remove any excess cleanser on your face, leaving it completely clean and fresh. I use Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Toner and it's $6.49 also at Target. 3. Use a daytime moisturizer and a night cream. During the day, our skin is fighting to hold in as much water as possible but we are subjected to so many dehydrating elements that we need to replenish that moisture at night when our skin is at rest. A daytime moisturizer will help act as a barrier for your skin so even if you are oily, use one! If you're worried about shine, go for an oil-free formula and if you are dry, use a richer moisturizer. At night, use a night cream (not the same daytime moisturizer) because night creams replenish the moisture you lost during the day. Just be sure mineral oil is not one of the ingredients in the NIGHT cream (can be in the day moisturizer) because mineral oil acts as a seal so nothing will penetrate your skin if that is in it. You can pick whatever you prefer and Target has several reasonable ones so pick what you like for your skin type. 4. Use a yoghurt mask every day if your acne is really bad and once it clears up, use it 1-2 times a week. Go to the grocery store and find either a lemon, orange, or pineapple-flavored yoghurt (any brand is fine) and apply it all over your face and let it sit for 10-15mins. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. The cultures in yoghurt help neutralize the bacteria in pores (a blemish is simply a bacteria-filled pore) and the citric acid in the lemon, orange, or pineapple will help you exfoliate the top layer of skin which will be much better than using a scrub. DO NOT use a scrub, especially the granular ones (if you must use one, only go for one with micro-beads) because when you put that over a blemish, it will spread the bacteria to the surrounding pores and also can scar the pores which makes them bigger. I hope this has helped but if you have any questions or need clarification, pls feel free to e-mail me. You can get my e-mail on my profile.
- im sorry ): i know what its like to have acne. i have it now but its going to be cured soon cause im taking a really powerful drug called accutane. i wouldnt recommend it right away because it has serious side effects. but anyways i know that acne messes with confidence and self esteem, there were times where i didnt even leave the house and prevented me from doing things with friends. and i would never even answer my door or leave my house without makeup on. people who dont have acne dont understand, and im sure that girl was just plain shallow so its just best to move on. and when your acne's gone that girl is going to wish she never did that. and i dont know about the pictures, i've never really thought of that. dont let people get to you, even though its hard. but yeah you will probly look better without acne, everyone does. i KNOW i will look better without it, and i cant wait. this summer is going to be amazing. PLEASE email me if you have any questions! Good luck! (:
