My Funny Picture

Why to things that are funny stop being funny? Like if you read or hear a funny joke, you laugh, but if you?

if you read it read it or hear it 5 times, it stops being funny. Nothing else does this. Steel is always hard. A blue crayon is always blue. 2+2 is always four. A picture of a dog is always a picture of a dog. And funny is not an emotion, like anger or lust. It's an adjective or concept and should not change with time.

1. cuz you get over it...if you keep laughing over and over it ain't funny no more..it just ain't.

3. Because a big part of humor is the element of surprise. If you know the punchline, what's funny about that? It's human nature to grow tired of things. I bet a tv show you liked a few years ago you're probably lukewarm about, too. Or a song, book, video game, etc. I wouldn't call funny an emotion, but it's definitely a basic human feeling--even as babies we laugh. So to try to analyze it as fact rather than as an inconstant human sensation is incorrect.
4. because you have heard it already it will obviously be boring you cant laugh at the same thing 5 times ,people always like new things
5. It may not make you laugh out loud like it did the first time, but things that are truly funny will always be so. Sometimes we laugh at the 'shock factor' or the audacity of something. That thing won't be funny the second, third, fourth time around because it was the unexpectedness that affected us the first time.
6. after hearing it so much you know whats gonna happen . So why laugh at something you always know.

Because it gets old Its like an activity you do over and over and over it becomes too familiar and becomes boring A joke is funny the first time because its new, it may still be funny the second time because its still fresh but then the third time it becomes boring and old because you've heard it two other times and your brain has already been too familiar with it.
8. Because half of what makes it funny is that you dont know how its going to end or make you laugh. After that first time, you know the end so its not as funny.
