Is it illegal to make prank phone calls in Canada?

Hi i was wodnering if making prank phone calls in Canada is illegal? When i prank call someone i never say rude, sexual or hateful things. I just call and ask if they'd like to go to the movies or something like that. Is this illegal? I also never call more than once. Also, if youre just going to say something rude, don't bother answering. =)

2. From what you've described, it's not so much as illegal as it is immature. You need to find a new hobby. Take up reading. Volunteer. Exercise. But don't waste time bothering people. Not trying to be rude. This is the Etiquette section and what you're doing is NOT proper etiquette.
3. Hmm. I think it's more of a maturity thing. But, it could be filed as harassment and they could call the cops on you if they get your number or *69. Just don't do it, it's not worth it : / But no, I don't think it's illegal as long as you don't bother the person.
4. Yes it is. Since many people have "call display" and "last number received" capability, it is not a good idea. Even if a number is blocked, the police can trace it and decode it from any phone. If you are that bored with your life, find some friends to do things with. Many people, especially elderly people, get very upset when people make 'prank' calls. It also ticks off the police! Have some respect for others.
5. Yes it is. If the answerer pushes @75 it is sent to the local police and they can charge you with telecommunications harrasment. So stop.
