- Whatever it is - it flies - so that should lower the number of could be's!
- That's a pretty characteristic track for a rabbit or a hare - the two larger tracks on the outside are actually the back feet, while the two smaller ones in the middle are the front feet. Since it's on a balcony, it could also be a squirrel, which sometimes leave similar tracks.
- That is an grey squirrel track. The only other thing would be a red squirrel but they are like a third the size.
- It looks like a bobcat might have visited your balcony! Those tracks are too big to be a squirrel! I have dozens of squirrels and their tracks are quite small. http://www.bear-tracker.com/bobcat.html Edit: But they are too large to be squirrel tracks! I have dozens of gray squirrels and their tracks look nothing like that. Maybe it's a Chupacabra,LOL!
- Those are rabbit/hare tracks. When Rabbits jump they land with their front feet and their back feet come and line up, and then they launch again. Thats what makes the tracks like that. http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/caer/ce/eek/critter/mammal/cottontail.htm
- I really don't see how that can be a bobcat track, Woofs; there is no imprint from the biggest pad, these highly resemble a rabbit track or squirrel. Seeing as rabbits don't climb/fly, I'm inclined to say squirrel. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://farm1.static.flickr.com/123/362691528_5e3af07a6c.jpg%3Fv%3D1169230914&imgrefurl=http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajschu/362691528/&usg=__cBNk5rwUPPREcfY7Prb2RGS2vT0=&h=500&w=375&sz=84&hl=en&start=145&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=2swtnfVniMiL7M:&tbnh=130&tbnw=98&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsquirrel%2Btrack%2Bsnow%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D144%26um%3D1 http://blog.bolandbol.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/3176611489_97c86f49e7_o.jpg http://www.glutenfreeforgood.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/tracks.JPG http://farm1.static.flickr.com/34/73227205_70b31a92bc.jpg EDIT: @ Woofs; Chupacabra, ha! Perhaps they heard of Santa and his tasty reindeer and started traveling north! lol Well, all I know is that they look suspiciously like squirrel/rabbit tracks, and this very morning we went to the Christmas tree farm and I spied many distinct rabbit tracks and some squirrel ones; I don't think they're too large, we have some really fat grey squirrels in my area and if the snow were at the right temperature than the tracks would seem a little bit larger. Put out an infrared camera, maybe you'll catch the interloper!
