Would it be weird/look strange?

Would it be weird/look strange if I wore a Nightmare Before Christmas skirt, with a top that doesn't have a Nightmare before Christmas picture on it? (like the shirt has nothing to do with the bottoms beside being a a colour that looks well with it) Should I just wear a plain coloured shirt then(no graphic tees)? I have to stop taking fashion advice from my brother. He said that I would have to match the shirt and skirt, lol.

2. YES! of course, it would look rather tacky if you matched them both. So a plain colored shirt would do.
