How can you pull off a prank phone call?

SO, ill tell you a story. The other day i was bored with some friends, so we decided to do some prank phone calls. One of the people that we called ened up haveing caller id. So we went online to an online phone! We used it to call a friend. The friend's mom got all freaked out, and starting spazzing. She was almost going to call my parents! So my question is, how can you pull it off?

1. use a different voice, hide ya number use a situatuion..'what has ya daughter been up to' be an advertisement etc.. haha good times! ^_^
2. 1. Make sure your caller ID is blocked 2. Don't call any one you know. 3. Don't order alcohol from a liquor store, they've heard them all. 4. Don't call any kind of threat, fire, bomb etc...
3. There are some precautions you can take, as you have seen. But consider this: are prank calls safe any more? When you call a complete stranger and annoy him, are you certain he isn't a wacko that will find some way to get back at you? If you hide your number, etc., are you sure he doesn't know some tricks to find it anyway? (I do.)
