Why do so many girls do these weird poses for pictures?

it looks super dumb, why not just smile? are they trying to look like models or something? cause it looks gay

4. It doesn't bother me. I think I'd be more annoyed if every picture of someone was just like a school yearbook picture. Plain and taken from the front with a smile. That would get boring.
