Why are my pictures so ugly?

everytime i look pretty in real life i take out the camera. when i take the picture i look nothing like i do in real life. i look weird and i have a strange look on my face. bleh it sucks! i can never take a good pic. any help or tips?

2. haha , you made me laugh ! it happends to me too ;] but sometimes i look good in photos . JUST BE IT , smile , i don't know ! do poses , the peace sign , smile , stick your tounge out , do a heart sign ! its okay though , i think its normal
3. OMG, i have the same exact problem!! I dont know, maybe its just all in our heads? Try to tilt your head to the side a little and dont put your face too close to the camera, it works for me most of the time.
4. Simple answer- Stop taking pictures of yourself. Take photos of other things and really learn how a camera works. Then you may be able to capture the likeness of yourself that wish for.
5. i honestly think you should either do a smaller smile or bigger be your self and remembe ryou dont have to look like those girls in magazines just be your self!
6. haha funny but back to subject try turning flash off if you use one. it tends to make skin seem more unattractive and don't try too hard or try taking multiple pictures without looking between. the more you take the higher success rate that or learn how to use the camera better be one with the camera.

8. 1. Get in flattering light, such as soft window light 2. Turn the flash OFF 3. Turn the self timer ON on the camera 4. DON"T hand hold the camera 5. Place the camera on a tripod and activate the timer 6. Get in front of camera and let it take the shot 7. Plan on doing this many, many times until you get focus and composition correct. 8. Best method is to let someone else who KNOWS photography with proper equipment and lighting take your photo. That is why REAL professional photographers exist and people pay MONEY to get quality photos in which they look good. steve
9. how do you know your pretty if you only see ugly pictures?????? is the mirror like the camera or do you see your self pretty in the mirror?
