Strange question about animal poop?

I was taking my daughter to her room to go to bed, and I have to walk through the basement to get there. I stepped in animal poop =/ Ugh. I don't know what kind of animal it was, can you help identify it for me? I have no images, because well, I stepped in it, lol But saw it, just a little too late,lol Descriptoin: About an inch long and half an inch wide Light Brown Pointy at one end and round on the other The texture was like really soft playdough and now, I have grossed myself out for examining poop, lol I live in central Florida, near a small lake, lots of trees, I don't think it was squirrel poop, I looked up pics and it wasn't the same. Maybe a baby raccoon? Anyway, hope someone can help =D I've also been hearing a cherping sound in my garage, near the basement, it's in a different spot everyday. Could it be a baby animal of some sort? A frog maybe? Oops, half an inch long and 1/3 inch wide. It's too small to be cat poop, too wide for a kitten, maybe baby a racoon.

2. A raccoon is very possible. It could also be an opossum. They often find their way into garages.
