Why do avatars affect some people so much?

Isn't it kind of really funny when people say "Please change your display picture?" Like, why does it matter to that person what you choose to have as your avatar? Don't you think they kind of need to get more of a life if that's what they worry about? like who are they to boss other people around and tell others what to do? pshhh

13. Well, see, here's the thing. You don't have an inappropriate avatar(if that's what you're asking about). But there are a whole heck of a lot of people here who do. I've seen.... things. Scary things. And they don't realize there are kids as young as fourteen on here. But they don't care. They just have this belligerent, Cartman-like attitude: "It's my hot body, I'll do what I want!" I wish people cared more about what others thought of them.
