Is it funny how idiotic lakers fans(or more like kobe fans) say the refs favored orlando?
I'm not an Orlando fan but i find it stupid how the lakers fans say they had to battle the refs and the magic 1. Remember fisher's clutch shot in overtime? Why didn't the refs take that shot away if they favored the magic? Oh yeah, because Kobe Bryant's mistakes is the double standard, if he accidentally elbows someone when a double team comes to him, it's not an offensive foul. But if Dwight Howard does that in the third quarter, it's no problem to call the foul on him. It's really pathetic. 2: Orlando's 37 free throws compared to the lakers 20: Are you people friggin' retarded? Maybe that's because half of orlando's fouls came from dwight howard. Obviously everytime howard touches the ball, it's the lakers job to foul his @ss every time or strip the ball. They stripped and fouled him. You illiterate lakers fans, they fouled ON PURPOSE so dwight doesn't get easy dunks. what part of that don't you understand? And for your information, dwight was shooting like crap from the line so that strategy actually worked. Everything else was terrible on both sides Just hate it when the lakers fans say the refs were more against them, not the magic. Anyway I realize that most lakers fans that say this are just kobe bryant fans whom are basically obssessed with him and put display pictures of him on their aim, y/h, etc etc I'm not talking about fans on the internet. Lakers fans in real life. There are a ton of bandwagon kobe fans in new york. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all wearing lebron jerseys in 2010. @?: LOL, bro... in new york city, there are clevland, houston, lakers, knicks, and even (a bit more recently) orlando fans. I'll stay a knicks fan though, thank you very much. @ Megabound: You're missing the point of this entire question. It's not "why did orlando lose this game, it was refs!" it's more like trying to tell those kobe lovers that the refs weren't one-sided(are you friends with a loud mouth lakers fan? at least ONE? Then you'll know what I mean.) Now to adress your answers: Turk went to basket more for the lay-up, up until the last two minutes of the game, he barely made three pointers. So basically maybe 2 of the fouls were incorrect, but you can't the same for the lakers. If you take away all of dwight's fouls(which 11 out of 14 of them were done on purpose, so yeh if you take away all of dwight's foul, it's pretty much equivalent to the number of foul shots the lakers made. So basically, that arguement of FT's crap is complete bull. - How can you not say the refs didn't see kobe bryant pass the ball to fisher(which included the elbow). They get paid thousands, it's their job to see a crucial call with 30 secs left in a game... @ "lakers4life". Creative screen name, are you another kobe fan ):. You're calling me pathetic now? Did I hurt your feelings :'(. No need to smash your keyboard with anger towards the internet, we're all basket ball fans here. With that aside, you missed the point of the question, like most idiots do. It's about saying how lakers fans say that the refs were one-sided, not "why did the magic lose". Anyway I'm pretty sure america agrees though that the Magic gave the game away, kinda obvious. Even with the turnovers they still missed 7 free throws with 7 minutes left in the game. But this isn't about whom lost and who win, it's about the refs stupid, lol.

- um I never said that ,, matter of fact i think the refs did a good job for both sides,, be mad all you want lakers still gonna win the finals,,, lets go BLACK MAMBA/11
- LOL, if the refs favor any one its the Lakers.
- yes
- let me get you some cheese to go with that "wine"
- Damn did you get beat up by some laker fans?
- Tell me about it. My brother and I, who normally agree on most things, regularly go to war on this subject. He claims that because the Magic have gotten more free throw opportunities, they have the advantage. He seems to discount the whole fact that they get more chances because they are getting fouled driving or do to the whole "actual" foul thing. This has been true throughout the playoffs. Denver, if not for the selective refereeing would have been in the Finals instead.
- Im a REAL Laker fan... This doesn't apply to me
- that is messed up! clearly the refs let the lakers go on and keep playing, but evey little hit or bump orlando made they wuld call a silly foul
- yesh
- I'm a neutral fan and I have to say the refs were equally as terrible for both teams. Think back to some of these plays. 1) Game 4 Kobe elbows Jameer Nelson in the face...no call 2)Game 4 Dwight Howard shoves Pau Gasol and then gets the and 1 3) Game 2 Pau Gasol grabs the rim during the infamous Courtney Lee alley oop...no call That's just a few. A call gets blown in this series every 2 minutes. It's not the fist time and won't be the last.
- Well...actually david stern does not want this series to end yet. He wants a 7 game series to promote his nba business ventures. Ultimately he will make sure the Lakers win if they need the help, but he was trying to help the magic out to keep the season going, but you he can't make the shots for them. Magic have to do some work too. Just like he tried his best helping out lebron, but the cavs gotta do their part as well. The lakers are the only team that know how to do their part when the ref's are helping them out in a close game
- i agree with your reasons completely they shoudnt complain anyways and that foul when kobe hit nelson was ridiculous and he should have possibly gotten a T when he elbowed dwight
- To answer your first question The shot Fish hit left time on the clock, he made the shot and theres nothing they could have done. If they called an off ball foul after he made t he shot it would have been a late call therefore a NO call. 2ndly It was Orlando's 37 free throws to the lakers 18. Howard took 14, Turk took 13 and Pietrus took 7 (some other people took freethrows but only like 1 or 2). Turk rarely ever gets that many freethrows and howard does. So your point is invalid because howard got the same amount of freethrows he usually does...he just didnt make them. The refs were calling bitch fouls on the lakers and they were calling bitch fouls on the magic...just not as many. If you really want to get into it, yes kobe threw that elbow and got away with it but if the refs didnt see it they can't call it. At the end of the day the game was not on the refs but on the players themselves. If dwight had made those 8 free throws and if hedo had called a 2nd time out instead of making that horrible play towards the end of the 4th we could see a completely different outcome. If it was up to me id implement a challenge system like there is in football where plays can be reviewed. David Stern said he likes this idea but it could slow down play so in order to challenge the challenging team woudl either have to use one of their time outs or have a set number of challenges they can use.
- People saying refs didnt see the elbow? Kobe had the ball so im pretty sure all the refs was looking right at him. And if they favored the magic they coulda called that a E Z falgrant cuz it wasnt a basketball play and the easiest call they could have called.
- the refs definately blew a lot of calls that went orlando's way but the best franchise in basketball always finds a way to win.
- i love how people always try to find a way to take away from lakers wins. as for the elbow yea it could of been a foul but you can also say he was in the passing motion and jameer nelson ran into which he did. he ran directly into his elbow. you say take away dwights free throws and its even. well thats too bad for them their best player cant make free throws. and even if you do take away the free throws the magic still took more. how can you say free throws dont tell the whole story. that is what free throws are for is fouls. if dwight practiced his free throws everyday for an hour or two im sure he could get better at them. you call us retarded when truly you are the retard here. they foul him on purpose and he gets foul shots what else is there to it. had they not called the fouls it would of been bad. you people need to find something better to do with your life other than put down the lakers win you say the refs favored the lakers but gave ONLY one example. you are pathetic
- it is true record the gaems and see for you self i have all playoffs on DVR and this magic game id say yes ref were on Magic side why casue with out there help we school school them refs tried to make it a series look at the second half lakers took like 3 free throws if that magic had like over 8
