Why do girls MySpace pictures look retarded?

Seriously.... you ask a girl (very few girls are exempt from this) to send a picture or you look at her myspace and every picture on there is taken from above angled down with her squinting or grimacing. Are they that uncomfortable with how they look that they have to not only angle the camera down from above to hide their (real or imagined) neck fat, and grimace their face? I mean if you like to take funny pictures thats cool and all but I have seen a lot of myspaces where ALL the pictures look like that. Whenever I ask why they don't just send a picture of themselves straight on with no funny face they go "because I don't like how I look that way" THATS BECAUSE THATS HOW YOU REALLY LOOK! I finally decided to rant about this after seeing a news story about four girls that died in a car crash and when they showed the pictures of them they were all squinty angled myspace pictures! Seriously! These people died and apparently even their family had no normal pictures of them! Is my theory on why they take the pictures like that right? whats yours?

1. Overdoing makeup, holding the camera above your head and looking up at it, flashing a peace sign, pouting your lips, wearing your skimpiest/most goth clothes, and using some online photo editor to throw in some sparkles or a little text is the only way to look slutty enough for MySpace... Did I say Slutty? I meant "Cool"
2. I honestly hate those photos. Photography should be use as photography. I admire people with group photos or trip photos. It's More like a document photo and very plain. My photos are always similar to photo shoots.
3. Its all the rage didn't you know. (sarcasm) Its become the universal pose, I guess. I just avoid Myspace all together.
