What animal is in this picture?

I just found a dead animal in my backyard. It was pretty weird because it was quite big and I've never seen it there before. I picked it up with a shovel and threw it away. I think it's been dead for a while because it was pretty heavy and stiff. The tail doesn't even move. I think someone just threw it in my backyard for fun because it just appeared there. I was looking at the spot where it was at around 6:30 PM and three minutes later, I saw it!

  35. It is a possum. Do not attempt to pick it up by hands, because this animal, sometimes, play dead and bite you. So, you might want to grab a stick and poke it by making sure if it is really dead.

  40. aw. That's so sad. Poor guy. I am almost a 100% sure that is a possum. - probably a baby. Be careful when being around it. I probably died because of a disease. If you have children or other animals in the house keep them away!

  43. it's an opossum and it's probably not dead it just plays dead when scared so predators won't take it and humans wont try to kill it
