My Funny Picture

How do I wirelessly transmit pictures I just took to a TV to display during a wedding?

I am covering my friends' wedding this summer and I wanted to know how I can display the pictures I just took on a TV near the DJ. What type of equipment is required? I will be shooting with a Nikon D300.

  1. Somebody may be able to help you further with this, but to my own knowledge, this is the only way I personally know how it can be done.... 1) (non wireless way) Hook the camera body up to the TV direct, scroll photos using the camera body. 2) (wireless way) Using a laptop, download the photos you need into a folder, using the appropriate software (Microsoft blah, blah I forget the name, you know the one where you can do slideshows?.. Powerpoint!, that's it!.), you can then scroll through the photos using a wireless clicker device thing. Those are the only two ways I can think of, they will both work fine. There may be a better way. ---- EDIT: I must add though, that unless you are shooting in JPEG or RAW+JPEG, you will not be able to display the images immediately, except directly through camera unless you convert them first, and if you are shooting a wedding, I certainly hope that you are shooting RAW!. ---- .
  2. Nikon makes a WiFi attachment for your camera. It isn't cheap, but it will do what you want. If you can find a compact flash adapter that will let you use an SD card in the camera, you could also look into the Eye-Fi cards. http://www.eye.fi/ They will do what you want, but they only come in SD.
  3. Why don't you just get a mac and save youself the hassle of powerpoint? iphoto will make very appealing slideshows by pressing one button, all you do is select the photos you want to be in the slide show...next, get a converter that connects the computer to the PC-in on the Tv. There is not need to connect the TV wirelessly...and that wouldn't be cheap at all and would make no sense.
