How does one make those little myspace changing picture things?

How does one make their own little picture things, you know the ones that switch really quickly and usually say something funny. They usually are only about the size of thumbnails, and they change every couple of seconds. How does one make them and personalize them? And don't give me a crappy answer like 'Not sure, good luck with that.' That's a great way to piss me off and make me report you for ignorance and spamming.
