Whats the name of this book?

When I was in the 5th grade, only about 5 years ago, my english teacher showed the class a book of these weird pictures. She said that a man came to get a book published and he disappeared leaving be hide all of these really strange pictures and they were published into a book. Please Help! I would really like to know what this mysterious book is!

5. OMG! in the fifth grade i did the same fricking thing! were the pictures titled like um... i don't remember but did one of the pics have a girl passed out on a bed with ivy coming out of a book, and then another one about a cruise ship sailing into one of the canals in Venice, Italy?!?!?
