msn messenger won't let me have display pictures or sign off?

msn messenger or live wont allow me to change my status or sign off or even change my display picture! what do i do, anyone got any ideas to help any helps is great thanks :)

1. Try restarting your computer if you haven't already or delete from your PC via control panel and then download it again. Hope this helped!
