How come nobody smiles in pictures?

Okay, I'm 13. I always smile in my pictures and people tell me I'm very photogenic with a natural smile. But I've noticed that, other than school pictures, girls my age don't smile in their pics. They take these weird pics where you can see the camera or what they are using to take the picture and make strange facial expressions with their lips pushed out and opening their eyes really wide. I don't get it, I think it just ruins the pictures. Even those "Am I pretty" questions have the most bizarre facial epressions when they post pics.

2. the pictures where you can see the camera are called mirror pics, most likely they used a digital camera without a flash. and they do that so their pics look "cool" and in style and professional i guess it's the new thing pouting your lips and not smiling i find it cute but not pouting your lips some other facial expressions and defiantly not the big eyes O_O i take pics with the mirror and make werid expressions to, but im not over dramatic its just so i have a cool myspace default XD
3. Some girls do smile, but most of those girls probably hate their smile. Whats wrong with seeing the camera? Thats usually called a mirror picture. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, thats just how they feel like posing. Fuhh real, just quit worrying. And, stop being petty. Yes, petty, not pretty.
4. I think those are just weird too! If you're going to have a picture just do it properly! It depends on the degree of poutness... Some people go overboard and look like they're trying to kiss someone through a letterbox! I agree with you!

7. well i dont do the whole pouty thing but recently ive notcied when i smile it looks so forced and sarcastic coz i have braces i dont really smile with my mouth open but also, but face is chubby and it looks bad when i smile big but i dunno its just a teenage fad i guess
