This HDTV is capable of receiving a 1080p signal, though a 1080p signal will be downscaled to the native resolution (720p). When setting-up your DVD player to support this TV, it would be best to set its up-scale resolution to 720p. In fact, it would be best to set it to 768p if that option is available.
