Contact and my display pictures not showing up?

I cant see my contacts display picture when in the chatting window. I have the "show contacts display picture" box checked yet still no results. Also custom emoticons are not showing up when chatting with contacts. I did accidentally click "turn off display pictures" - an Einstein move. Currently using Windows Live Messenger, the latest version.

1. hi ★check out this first open MSN tools options →'messages' tab enable these options 'show emoticons' 'show custom emoticons' →then on the 'personal' tab enable this option 'show my image and permit other users to see it' →then on the 'general' tab en able 'use always the same display picturea and personal message each time I sign in' APPLY/OK ★if it doesn't work you can do 2 things →restore your system to a date when MSN worked fine →repair MSN close MSN than go to start control panel add&remove programs ‘windows live essentials’(if using WLM 2009) ‘windows live messenger’(if using WLM 8.5) click on 'remove' and then on 'repair' wait til the wizard finishes sign in again Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ*`•. ï ђøρε ï ђεlρεḋ¸.•* Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ☆ ::: (\(\ *: (=' :') :* •..
