Can you call the police for prank phone calls?

I recently got my lip pierced and someone keeps calling my cell phone saying things like " Did you take your magnetic piercing out yet? " It isnt that bad but its really annoying. So if i call the police will they trace the number for me?

2. Yeah, it's a form of harrasment. But as you said, it's not that serious, leave it for a while, if it doesn't stop then phone the police. Prank callas are funny, too many just isn't!
3. You can file a police report. You should go to the police station yourself, if possible, to file the report. You CAN call the police and have them come to your home-be sure to use the non-emergency number, though. But again, if at all possible go to the station yourself. The officers that work there handle this, the ones out on the road are for emergencies, traffic violations, etc. Anyway, the police can subpoena the phone records from the phone company and find out who the caller is. They will NOT tell you, though. The only way you would ever find out would be if it went to court, and that is unlikely since this is not violent or anything. Yes, I understand the frustration but it going to court would be a big waste of time and money. Considering the nature of the call, they would most likely issue a warning. The next time they call, simply tell them that if they do not cease you will file a police report. If they are smart, that would stop them. In the meantime, it is obviously someone who knows you-they have your number and know about your piercing. I would be thinking of who it could be. When they call, do not get angry or anything-that will just entice them to call back again. I hope this helps, and wish you the best!
