My Funny Picture

What's the rule with senior pictures and other professional portraits? Can you use them for a display picture?

I know that you cannot reproduce them but can you use it for a display picture in a facebook or anything of that sort?

  1. im pretty sure you would be able to use them as default pictures for a site. i think youre just not allowed to reproduce or sell them.
  2. That is an interesting question. You will really have to look at the agreement you signed when you had the photographer shoot you. You may have the rights to display your image not only in the yearbook, but on the schools website or other electronic medium. If not, let the photographer know what you want and get a "permission to publish" letter from him that allows for publishing it on facebook or myspace and the like. He may ask you give him credit on or near the photo, but that is fair.
