Halloween Pranks: How Do You Clean Egg Off Of Vinyl Siding?

My home (along with the neighbors') got egged for the first time laon Halloween. Does anyone know how to clean the egg off of vinyl siding? Does it make a difference if it's frozen onto your siding? Thanks very much for any help - much appreciated! :-) There's a lot of yellow egg yolk on painted wood trim as well as on the vinyl siding. Does the protein cause the damage and if so would "Shout" pre-stain treatment work on the egg like it does on blood and chocolate stains? If I don't have a pressure washer - what are my alternatives?

  1. A power washer should do the trick.
  2. It might be a good thing that it is frozen. Egg takes the color right out of siding so get it off as soon as possible. Power washing is a good idea.
  3. I would say power wash if you can, if not wait until the daytime when its a bit warmer and hopefully above freezing and use a Mr. Clean Magic eraser....
  4. Spray it down with a garden hose. You may need to scrub a little bit with a cleaner. Dawn dish soap would work. You want to get it off as soon as possible. The sun will bake it on and cause some damage.
  5. By far the best way to get the egg off is to put straight white vinigar in a garden sprayer and spray it on the effected area. Vinigar contains something to break down the egg proteins, (check some science site). Let it soak for about five minutes then spray the vinigar on again, dont let the vinigar dry therefore it is recomended to do this at night make sure you give it at least two sprays of vinigar or more. Then after ten minutes from the last time you sprayed the vinigar hose it off well you can use a pressure cleaner but it is not nessecary a hose will work fine this will even remove hard baked on egg to some degree with several trys it will be good as new... Cheers
