Do you have a favorite pet story?

Birds, cats, dogs of course, lizards, camels, bears, kittens, sheep will do too. Lets see hippos and giraffes would be interesting. It's for a picture book project. Sad, funny, scary, cute, smart or dumb. I have two Shelties, one is the typical hurding Sheltie and the other one is dumb as dirt! selfish and lazy and when it comes to protection he expects me to protect him. But I love him anyway.

1. Here's my story... But if you need to use it in a book I would like a bit of credit: I danced my way into the feed store, unable to contain my excitement. I was getting two rabbits!!! Two! All my own, and next year I could do 4-H with them!! I was so young and naive as I walked over to the cage with my two best friends in tow. I bent down, and even to this day I still remember all of the little 6 week old bunnies waiting for me to pick them. Though there were 6 in that small wire cage I could only see one, my heart stopped beating and everything faded, the noises, lights, even my thoughts. She sat there looking up at me quizzically with eyes like pools of melted chocolate nestled in her caramel fur. Gingerly I had reached out to brush her side with my finger. Bella, beautiful. That was when my life truly began... -Lira
