Is my T.V. compatable with the xbox 360 VGA cable?

Now, theres been some speculation if i can or cannot. My T.V. is the Vizio 22" LCD T.V. ( VW22LHDTV10T ).. Here are its specs: Technology: TFT active matrix Diagonal Size: 22" - widescreen Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Progressive Scan: Progressive scanning (line doubling) Image Aspect Ratio: 16:10 Image Contrast Ratio: 1000:1 Viewing Angle: 160 degrees Viewing Angle (Vertical): 160 degrees Pixel Response Time: 5 ms Brightness: 300 cd/m2 Comb Filter: 3D digital Additional Features: 3:2 pull down compensation, 2:2 pull down compensation Display Format: 1080i V-Chip Control: Yes Color Depth: 24-bit (16.7 million colors) Display Menu Language: English, French, Spanish Pixel Pitch: 0.282 x 0.282mm Backlight Life: 50,000 hour(s) Now, my question is : Can i use the xbox 360 VGA cable, and if i can, will it improve my T.V's picture quality?.. and if not why? Why i am asking is because i have read and heard two different things. My friend has the Viewsonic: Diamani Duo HDTV/LCD combo ( NX2232w ).. and i have compared T.V.'s and all i have found different is that the viewsonic has a dynamic contrast ratio and static contrast ratio vs mine with just a static contrast ratio. They have the same resolution, image/contrast ratio and pixel response time. So if this could be cleared up that would be awesome.. thanks! - LeO Well, the reason for me asking is that because of the 16:10 image aspect ratio and 1680x1050 resolution is could not use the VGA cable... well in theory i could but it wouldint make a difference at all when it comes to picture quality... and would the VGA cable cut out all lag for online? like on halo or guitar hero?>

  1. Yes it will work, but seeing as the TV is 1080i you wont get a huge performance increase over component video. The VGA cable is really meant for upgrading to 1080p (Not supported with component). In theory it could look slightly better, but not much. If you have an xbox with HDMI I'd go with that instead. Edit: No, a VGA cable won't help with lag. :(
  2. not really sure what the question is here? If you can plug it into the back of the tv and the xbox 360 can be viewed on the tv using it, it's most likely compatible. =P http://www.short-circuit.com/images/products/cables/vga2vga-cable.jpg Look to see if you have a spot for this cable to go into on your TV. Yes, it should improve picture quality.
  3. if its an lcd, i think it would work.
  4. You never said anything of the inputs on it but assuming the usual for that kind of TV the answer is simple. Yes. You should use the HDMI or component cable to connect your xbox 360 since the RCA cable that usually comes with the Xbox 360 can't support your TV's max resolution so your xbox is currently displaying the graphics at 400 X 300 and your TV is stretching that up. Try it you will see the difference.
