How would one pull LEGAL pranks on people in an apartment complex?

Well, my friend and i don't want to get in huge trouble, but we would like to pull some (kinda) harmless pranks. It's night here; a little after midnight... so.. what do you think we could get away with? Like I said, nothing really illegal. We don't need a lecture or anything, just suggestions.
