  1. I think I saw this model for sale at Circuit City at this price. Well when you buy computers the first thing you need to do is decide is what you're going to do with it and buy accordingly. For the average computer user this machine probably more than suits their needs but there are others with special needs (gamers, animators, programmers etc) who require really high-end equipment or maybe would be better suited with a Mac. so instead of saying the user will be a college student, say what he/she is going to do with the machine, as "college student" alone doesn't really say much.
  2. I'm not a fan of gateway or 64bit Vista. You may have a problem with adding software and driver for a 64 bit OS. There is not much out there for it. The hard drive is slow and should be 7200 rpm. You only have Microsoft office for 60 days and then you have to buy it to keep using it. it will be $$$. If you don't plan to add anything to it, the price is good. Speed and performance is good but other than that, I would not buy it.
  3. the specs is good but don't use Vista OS.
