pictures wont display from a CD a friend made for me?

I have xp professional friend has vista. The cd files pops up when i insert the cd and it shows completely full 701 MB but does not display any pictures. Other computers at work have no issue with this cd. Any suggestions as to what is happening and how I can get it to show the pictures on my computer.

2. No files at all? I'd suspect your CD drive or the driver for the drive. Can you see files on any other CD? If you don't have a program to display the particular format he saved the pictures as, you will see files, but you won't be able to display pictures. To give you a more exact answer, we need more exact information.
3. 1- check your cd rom by inserting other cd s if the cd-rom is ok then: 2- right hand click on anyone of thr photos on the other computers and click property read ( type of file:--------) the dashes are might be JPEG or BMP or TIFF or GIF 3- go to goole and type ( file extension finder) in the search box it will direct you to the site 4- in the file extension finder site type the type of files and click search 5- the result is a table the most important part is: the program which you can use to open the file type 6- then you will be able to find out which program is missing from your computer
