crazy faces?

What is the deal with all the crazy faces that teenagers make when they take pictures of themselves and eachother? My neice has a myspace page and every single one of her friends makes a weird pose for the camera. What is that all about?

2. I think people are just trying to look "cool". Most people stick the peace sign or pout their lips....

4. haha a lot of teenagers do it. I guess they dont just like smiling. They are having fun and being silly.
5. b/c if they were trying to look good and they look bad then ppl will b like "wow look at her ugly smile, and she was prolly trying to look pretty" but if your making a goofy face then it doesnt matter it you look bad, no pressure.
6. it is so much fun to take picture like that, and though we do think that we r being cool doing it, it is pure fun! but do u know how many times it takes to get a good picture of yourself like that. we also do it because it shows our happy, free-spirited side. it makes other people think that u r fun to b around.
