Need Tips for Photographing Pets?
I love taking photos of my dogs and my fish. With the dogs, I get that weird green/white reflection in their eyes -- kind of the pet equivalent of red eye. How can I avoid that, or how can I fix it later in Photoshop? And when photographing my fish, how can I best capture them without getting blurry pictures? My camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80.

- try adding more or less light depending on the ares you are in!!!don't get so close to the bowl!!! and if this don't work...switch to a dog or cat!!!
- Get the camra, make sure you get the dog in the fishtank ready 4 the picture,,,then put your eye on the thingy bobs, then click,,sorted ,,,, PROBLEM SOLVED
- Try not to take pictures with their heads to you . Have their heads tilted away a little bit. As for the fish, try to get pictures of them with their side to you.
- If you have a red eye setting on your camera turn it on, what that does is change the flash to small bursts instead of one big flash. Or turn off your flash, it's the flash that causes that. Yes in Photoshop you can fix it, there is a button that shows a picture of an eye on it for that. It's similar to cloning only it holds the place it is copying from static as your moving around the eye. You will need to magnify the picture to see all the pixels in the eyes better you do that with the button of the magnifying glass. Photoshop has an amazing help index, press the help in the top of the page and type in red eye it will explain step by step how to fix it. Your animals may have a green/white hue but it is the same theory.
- Don't use the flash, if that's possible. If you need to use flash, put it on the red-eye setting. Your camera should have a flash setting that is made to prevent red-eye. It will flash once and then wait a second and flash again. When photographing the fish, put your camera on macro and set the focus to center. Put it on the sports setting as well..this should help with the blur a little.
- Do not use the flash, and make sure to GET DOWN TO THE PETS EYE LEVEL that is how you make it more interesting
- I would try to take the pictures of the dogs outside, on a nice sunny day, as the others said, without the flash. The fish might be blurry because your shutter speed is really slow due to it being dark. You can't use the flash because of the reflection, so try and bring every lamp you have into that area to make the tank better lit.
