My Funny Picture

whats your weird phobia? & can you help me get rid of mine?

im afraid of large spaces (& the more color it has, the more frightening it gets. like: the ocean & swimming pools: i would FREAK OUT if im in the middle of the ocean, in the middle of a lake, even at the shallow parts! its like...the most scariest thing if you look at the water. its gets darker & darker & darker.you never know whats happening down there cuz the water is thick & i always get the feeling im about to be pulled down by something. its like being in a living being and it feels like im floating in the middle of a LARGE mouth/jaw. & i mean REALLY LARGE. larger that that fish in JAWS. & fish freak me out too. especially those that live in the deeper parts of the ocean. have you seen their pics? seriously, theyt look like demons or something! sometimes i think hell is at the deepest part of the ocean. :D experts estimate that humans have explored less than 5% of the ocean :O swimming pools are freaky because they make large pictures out of the tiles & its creepy standing on some large flower in the water. or large dolphins. LARGE things creep me out if were in the water!!!!!! of im on dry land im not scared at all oh yea i forgot whats ur weird phobia? & help me get reid of my phobia!!! AAAAAAAAAAA

  1. I don't like things at the bottom of the sea either. Creeps me out. But my big phobia is of those ventriloquist dummies. And wax statues. Freak me out big time! I'm not sure what brought it on or anything, I don't know how you can get rid of it either, sorry =/
  2. if you think about it, land is as pretty large just like the ocean is. I had phobia of being in the wide open ocean and i figured out why. It's because I couldn't swim. So the though of me being out in the open ocean scared me because I know I would drown sooner or later because I couldn't swim. Right now, my phobia is really small places.
  3. There are thousands of phobia, most of which are considered weird by people who don't have them, so don't worry about yours as far as weirdness. If you want to get rid of it, it takes only a few counseling sessions to use a technique called "operant conditioning" to get rid of it. Go for it!
  4. i don't like heights, i'm afraid of big water and bridges. you have to get therapy but i think everyone is afraid of something for a reason. maybe pastlife death.
  5. Since Steven Spielberg made Jaws, many people are happy staying out of the ocean. I have to agree with you about those 'demons' in the sea and how much more water there is than land. Be sure you can swim, at least on your back because it calms me to know I can see the sky and everyone else while on my back. When you can swim the fear of water is lessened and you know you can survive. The phobia sounds more ominous than a fear but it's not. Stay out of the ocean and pools too if you don't like them. Who says you have to love everything? It makes sense to stop watching movies and shows about sea monsters because then you just exacerbate your problem. I can't think of any phobias. I have a fear of heights but I should. I don't want to fall.
  6. Don't know if you're open to this, but having a past-life regression could cure it. Many of our phobias are linked to past lives and things that happened to us or how we died. I was extremely afraid, not of all heights, but just when I would be driving in a car on a large cliff/mountain, you know the kind where if you miscalculated you could go plummeting thousands of feet off the side....As a child, anytime my mom & I would drive on a mountain, I would literally be cowering on the floorboard until we were off of it... and I found out that is how I died in a past life. Having a past-life regression can help you release that fear, but just knowing that's why was enough for me :)
  7. It might be a good idea to stop watching movies like "JAWS" or anything that has to do with sharks or monsters of the sea. haha but seriously you need to write down all the things you don't like about the water and then write two things that are good about the water. just cause your in a boat doesn't mean that something is going to pull you down. You need to stop telling your self lies and start to face some facts and start telling your self some truths about water. If you look at all the things that make you fearful about the water and yet you see others enjoying themselves at what you dont like then dont you need to change your thinking about it all.
  8. Awww its alright. I don't like the dark part of the ocean either. Especially when you are swimming and you feel something brush your leg and you can't see what it is. D: That's why I mostly just go to the pool. ;)
  9. Well mine is water also like the lakes or oceans and even though i swim a bit i never go past my neck. When i am out that far to my neck ' my heart is pounding and i feel like i need to get out asap.My other one is being locked in small spaces like elevators and especially when they shut down' when i Am inside.I will yell scream help call 911 ASAP ..i REALLY CANNOT BREATH SO I HAVE TO TALK TO MYSELF' AND SAY TAKE A DEEP BREATH before i faint or something...Wow humans only have seen 5 percent of the ocean.will all these modern day thugs who rob and kill on the high seas i would rather not be out there anywhere...
