My Funny Picture

I know this is weird, but are there pictures on the internet of what?

My dogs scars should look like after being spayed?? I am just worried they will get infected.

  1. If you have any concerns after the procedure, call your vet (phone calls are free). It's more reliable than looking for pictures on the internet and trying to diagnose your dog's condition (or lack thereof) yourself. Never hesitate to call your vet, even if it's just to put your mind at ease.
  2. they should look like an incision... if they get red or swollen (or worse) then they may be infected.
  3. If the surgery site starts to look red or puffy beware. Also, don't let her move around much do decrease the chance of the wound opening. Thank-you for spaying your dog :~).
  4. pictures of what what
  5. Well, I just had to search Google images to look (out of curiosity) and you can see pictures of an actual spay, and few of incision scars. I've seen a lot of them in the past several years, and rarely seen one get infected. If it looks red, swollen, or oozing, call your vet right away. Even if you think it just doesn't look right, call them and they should be willing to take a look for no charge. Keep your dog from licking the incision area excessively and keep it clean, and you should be fine. I second the thanks for spaying your dog!
  6. Rachel is right. Give your vet a call. It won't cost anything. And usually follow up appointments from a spay are free or cost very little. Please give your vet a call and have your girl looked at. It's worth a phone call right?
