My Funny Picture

Funny/weird senior pictures.?

Its the season for senior picures, and i want something original. I dont want the traditional tree or brick wall bull, i want soemthing funny, weird, random, or all of the above. I only have one idea so far tho, and that is to take on at a movie theater, with popcorn in my arm and a drink im my other hand, and having the light of the movie shine on my face. however, i dont know if i can do that. Also, my friend got like 5 of his pictures taken with a onezie on, so, i kindof need to top that. Now for the question: can any of you give me weird ass ideas for senior pictures? Thanks for the replies.

  1. Why weird? How about original...something that REALLY showcases your personality? Try going to sites like photobucket and flickr.com and searching for 'senior pictures' to get some ideas! MANY photographers are really getting away from the boring old brick wall you mention. Get together with the right photographer, and talk to them about what you want. I see no reason why you can't get what you want. The movie theater would be tough to do during an actual movie, for many reasons, but a good photographer can recreate that feel very easily, and nobody would know any better...you just need to be able to get into the theater when nobody is there, and really I'm sure a quick phone call to a manager at the theater would allow that, in between shows, no problem.
  2. That's great that you want to do something different! If you want some, er... rather hilarious inspiration, go to www.collegehumor.com and search for the "senior pic" tag. Those might be a little much for real life, though. The movie theater idea is great, but you would probably need a long shutter speed to do something like that, not to mention a theater. Try to bring some popcorn, movies, and maybe a recliner to your shoot and just turn down most all of the other lights. Maybe bring a lamp with a dimmer to play with. Just keep thinking of things, and maybe carry a sketch pad with you. You'll find that the best ideas come sometimes at the most odd times, and that having something to record them can be very handy.
  3. My brother did mine and we went into his fiance's barn loft where they have a bunch of couches, old chairs, a pool table, a carpetball table, etc. We started out by doing just a bunch of goofy ones to kind of get warmed up, some of the funniest ones being me sitting in a big, fluffy, comfy chair on top of the pool table. Some of them actually came out really well, too. We also did a couple of me lying down in the carpetball table, and while you can't recognize what I'm lying on in the photo, they have a really neat look because I'm dressed all nice and looking like the typical "aww" photo, on a waferboard background in an obviously not clean place. Another thing I've always wanted to do, but have never had a chance, is to take a couch out into the middle of a field and shoot on it.
