- Comparing the two is difficult, because the effects are dissimilar. Salvia is more like a dissociative than a psychedelic. The main trip is the most hallucigenic and, depending on the strength, effects range from mild euphorant to total loss of conciousness. While the extremes are less desirable, somewhere in the middle you can reach out of body effects such as traveling through space and time. Strong doses can result in a feeling of merging with the universe/god. The biggest difference is duration. The salvia trip lasts 5-10 minutes normally, compared to 4-8 hours on shrooms and 8-12 hours on lsd. The after effects of salvia are more in tune with a dissociative, calm, relaxing mood, lightheadedness, and alterted thought processes. I personally had an experience of travelling down an infinite tunnel while I was bombared with multiple colors and intense buzzing sound that nearly drowned out even my own thoughts. I haven't done it in awhile but plan on trying it again before the DEA decided to criminalize it nationally.
- I took LSD once: bad trip, several unpleasant flashbacks for four years, on only ONE hit. I don't recommend it
