I was wondering why in some pictures you look how you see yourself in the mirror and others are so weird lookn
In some pictures I think I look how I look and others I think look weird.. why is that. Is it sometimes how the camera's lens is. Like it shoots you a little differently?Could the light be the reason or the flash? Any tips on how to set the camera to shoot you correctly like the professionals would do?

- Well, I'm guessing it's because of the lens used. A wide angle lens distorts things, especially faces shot close-up. It makes you look all stretched out. Is that what you mean? For a better shot of yourself, use normal to telephoto lenses (telephoto is better), a tripod and a self-timer. Or have a friend take the picture.
- Hi, I recommand you to try google picasa. picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera. It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips. It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google Download it free in here: http://www.adcenter.net.cn/google-picasa/ Good Luck!
- Well, shooting yourself is always different than how the professional picture people would take your photo. For one thing, they have a lot more equipment to make sure the light falls on your face correctly. (and they airbrush your pictures before they give it to you, lol) If the lighting is a problem, too bright, perhaps, try pointing the flash away from your face, to the wall, say. It will reflect off the wall, and still come back to your face, but in the process of reflecting off the wall, it will be softer, and it will be a more flattering light. Think of how if you shine a flashlight directly under your chin, your face has all these shadows on it. But if you point the flashlight at a wall, so the light reflects, it scatters the light beams a bit, and less of your face is in shadow. Sometimes it could be the angle of your camera when you're taking a photo. Different angles will distort your perception a little bit. For example, if you take a photo looking from your feet up your body, your head will look really small from the perspective near the ground. Try not to use extreme angles when taking pictures. I can't really think of much else now, but hopefully that helps you a bit. :)
- I guess you are using a camera with 28 or 35 mm lens and ou are taking the camera too close to yourself inorder to take closeup shots. By doing this, you will distort the image. For eg. when you are shooting a person and he/she is sitting with the legs spread infront. You will find that the legs and feet will appear much larger in the picture. This is the impact of using wide angle close to the subject.
- Usually the angle that your features are towards the lens can affect how you look, and how the light reflects off of your features also affects how you look in the picture.
