Do you think people who ask for their pictures to be rated on websites are weird?

I mean it is a little bizzare, don't you think? Nobody in reality would suddenly ask a group of friends/strangers, do you think I'm attractive/have sticky-out ears/look a bit inbred... I think it shows a certain vain self-obsession and it grosses me out.

1. Nope, just INCREDIBLY vain! I mean, sure it'd be nice to be complimented on my looks, but I'd never push someone to TELL me how I looked of give me a score. I couldn't give a rat's ass what people thought of me.
2. not weird, I think there is something missing in there life, perhaps single parent, or parents that are to busy and dint give the youngster enough attention, perhaps they lack in confidence, maybe they just need a little bit of assurance, to know someone cares
3. Not necessarily. It's more of a subconcious thing. People tend to turn to those they don't know and ask for help. Why do you think people share their inner most secrets on TV shows like Maury, Dr. Phil, The Steve Wilkos Show etc? Because they don't know the people they are confronting and there is no emotional bond between the asker and the audience. Sure I've seen some silly questions here about whether they are pretty or not but you have to be in their shoes. These people either have a hard time at school or are extremely self-concious. To ask a blank computer screen as to whether your pretty or not is emotionally easier than asking your parents. Good Luck~ Marvin the Martian.
4. They are very insecure. The only ones that I look at are the "Do you think I look like this celebrity" those are entertaining
5. No, some just need confirmation about their self worth.
6. Not sure what that is all about, unless you don't 'really' care anyway or are very vain I can see how it could be quite bad for ones self esteem, many ppl. I think do nothing but pick on certain girls either because they are jealous of her, are basically mean spirited, or he/she not had success in trying to make closer contact with her and repeatedly give her the lowest score to drop her average rating, not sure if the guys get that treatment tho'.
