How to display pictures on TV from my laptop?

My laptop has RGB or TV-out (S-Video) port on its side and I wanted to use my TV as a display mode to view photos in my laptop. How do I go about it? I have bought one S-video to 1 RCA cable and I try plugging it to the TV just now but it does not show up anything. What should I do next? I have changed the display setting in my laptop and used the right cable, but the image on my TV is flickered and blurred, what's wrong with it?

1. You can buy an S-Video Cable and connect your computer to your TV using it. On your TV you probably have a TV/Video button. Press that a few times till you see your computer screen on the TV.

3. First Plug in the 2 ends of the S-Video cable to the laptop and the tv. Then, right lcick your desktop and click on properties, then go to settings, then click on the Box with the number 2 in it. Then click on Extend My windows Desktop on to this monitor, select that for the Box with the number one in it too. This should do it.
