  1. Few things. One, I don't see the Ram. That's a biggie when it comes to gamming. Second, is the video card. A better video card, the longer it will work (even though the greatest wont work long, they get better too quick.) So, I'm gonna say Idk. My advice, pick a game that is relativily new, and look at it's spec's. Those are gonna be roughly average spec's for games. Your gonna want a video card better then that. Hope I helped.
  2. yes that a good gaming laptop, but not the best one. your processor has a little bit slow in speed, better has minimum 2.0 Ghz in C2D family if you wanna have wonderful games experience, but you have nice VGA card in laptop series, 8600M gs(NVidia 8 series support directx 10) and 256 mb memory is enough for your laptop (because your laptop has maximum resolution 1280x800, you VGA memory can handle it well), and you have nice display too (i think 15.4" widescreen display has good view in gaming laptop), and you have "gaming size" RAM (2 GB) for laptop, nice specs indeed
  3. No, the 8600m GS is average and has GDDR2 memory which makes it crap. 8600m GT 512 is GDDR3 and is OK. Get a 8800m GTS laptop for $1350 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8780198&productCategoryId=pcmcat150700050002&type=product&tab=1&id=1204332501169#productdetail 8800m GTS is twice as fast as two 8700m GT in SLI. Read the forums about this laptop. It gets great reviews and is really fast and is the best gaming laptop under $2000. Plays COD4 max everything at 55fps Notebook GPU comparison http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html If you can only spend $1000, the 9500m GS is faster than the 8600m GT GDDR3 and are 14." in size (6lbs) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220331 The ATI 3650 is good too http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220303
  4. Trust me if you want it for gaming don't settle for any video card less than 8800gt 512mb. Also go for processor with min. 2.2ghz speed. Ram min 2gb. Anything less will have a noticeable effect on performance esp. on high end gaming.
