Can someone help with an ilo LCD monitor?
I have an ilo 15" LCD monitor. It was bought at Wal-Mart in Dec. 2005 and worked perfectly until March 2, 2006. Then the screen started going black. It seemed to happen more when there were a lot of graphics or pictures on the page it was displaying but it has also happened when it's only displaying my blank desktop. The only way to get it back to normal is to turn the monitor off and back on. I tried changing the resolution from 1024x768 to 800x600 like it says in the manual for troubleshooting but it didn't help. I also changed the screen refresh rate from 70 Hz to 60 Hz and that helped some but it still happens, just not as often. Any ideas? It looks totally black but I moved it into a better lit area and I can see faintly see the images. Is it possible to replace the backlight? And, where would I get a new one?

- It should be under warranty. Take it back to WalMart. I've never heard of that brand. Sometimes inexpensive can be translated into cheap.... Sorry...
- One possible problem could be the screen backlight is faulty. Is the screen totally black or can you faintly see images. If it goes totally black, it could have something to do with the monitor power supply. Another cause could be your computer's video card. iLo is a Wal-Mart branded product. I was unable to find any contact information, but your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer and see what they say. You might be outside the warranty period, so it may be cheaper to just buy a new monitor. To make sure it's just the monitor, hook it up to another computer and see if the problem occurs.
