i have a panasonic TH42PZ80B and would like to know what the best picture settings for it are? i have already asked this question but didn't give enough detail, what i would like help with is setting my: viewing mode (dynamic, normal, cinema, eco) contrast (its a bar not numbers) brightness (its a bar not numbers) colour (its a bar not numbers) sharpness (its a bar not numbers) colour balance (cool, normal, warm) colour management (off/on) P-NR (off, min, mid, max) that is exactly how the settings are set out and i would like to know how to set these to produce the best quality picture for gaming on my xbox 360 elite (with 1080p HDMI cable that came with the elite) and when i say bar not numbers i mean its a bar that i can move up and down, not numbers (eg. setting the contrast to 67). also what settings should i have on my xbox 360 elite console settings (display): HDTV settings (i have set it to 1080p) reference levels (standard, intermediate, expanded) HDMI colour space (auto, source, RGB, YCbCr709, YCbCr601) if you could help me set thes i would be eternally grateful! many thanks again, you have all been such a great help over the past few months :D p.s read the detail area carefully and only answer with sensible questions, remember i would like the optimal settings for xbox 360 elite gaming with a 1080p HDTV and a 1080p HDMI cable conecting the console to the HDTV (hope that helps :P) http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/710041/index.html?trackInfo=true this is the link to the official panasonic website and to the specs of my HDTV if this helps at all, if you do not own this tv then please check the specs before answering. thankyou :D

is this a good tv? Samsung 40" LCD HDTV (LN-T4061F) This 40" LCD HDTV delivers incredible resolution and color to anywhere in your room. It does it in style with hidden bottom speakers and a glossy black finish. The basics Display type: Flat-panel LCD Screen resolution: 1080p (1920 x 1080) Aspect ratio: 16:9 Contrast ratio: 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio Tuner type: NTSC, ATSC, QAM Connection options HDMI inputs: 3, Supports 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p. Component inputs: 2, Supports 480i/480p/720p/1080i. PC inputs: 1 See specifications table for more feature and connection options Dimensions Height: 24.7" (27" on optional base) Width: 38.2" Depth: 3.4" (11.8" on optional base) Weight: 38.6 lbs. (46.1 lbs. on optional base) Features Full HD 1080p resolution: See all of your programming in the highest resolution currently possible. Many Microdisplay, LCD and Plasma sets are only able to display 1280 x 720 pixels. When showing 1080i content (1920x1080), these sets will lower the resolution. Not with a 1080p set. This never throws any resolution away. Wide color enhancer: LCD TVs use a type of fluorescent lamp as their light source. Just like the fluorescent lamps in offices and other places, these lamps tend to emphasize blue. Samsung adjusts the signal so that the picture you see is more natural and closer to the original. S-PVA panel: When the whole family sits down to watch TV, or when you have guests over to watch the game, it's important that everyone gets to see the action. With Samsung's exclusive Super PVA LCD panels, you get a wide 178-degree viewing angle. Now everyone can sit in a great seat. 8ms response time: Fast sports require fast response from your LCD panel. Otherwise, the motion might get blurred. Samsung ensures a crisp image with a response time that's more than double what's required by the most demanding HD sources: 60 frame-per-second video (1/60 sec = 16.7ms per frame). 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio: LCD panels create a picture by selectively letting light through from a constant source. This produces bright images effectively, but because that light source never turns off, dark images are more difficult to produce. Samsung analyzes each incoming frame and adjusts the panel and light source to produce the best result. This gives you deep, dark scenes without dimming the bright lights. NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner: The ATSC tuner lets you receive free digital broadcasts, including HD signals, through an over the air antenna. QAM allows you to receive unscrambled HD from your cable provider without a set top box. The NTSC tuner will allow you to tune in to analog signals until the 2009 cutoff. Game Mode: Gaming places high demands on the TV. People sit closer to the screen, instant response is required, and all images are computer generated. As a result, a TV should be "tuned" for games. Samsung learned the best practices from a leading console manufacturer and built them into Game Mode. 3 HDMI-CEC inputs: HDMI is the best digital connection for today's high definition sources. CEC adds a control interface so that you can, for instance, insert a disc in your HDMI-CEC enabled DVD player that will turn on the TV and change it to the right input. All you do is close the disc tray! Samsung offers two of these inputs on the back of the set and one on the side to keep you connected well into the future.

Keep in mind this is my first 1080p TV, I previously had a 40" 720p TV Samsung LNT4042H which I Upscaled to 1080 through my xbox with my HDMI cables and the picture looked great, Ive just heard so many great things about 1080p with gaming that I wanted to try it out for myself. So i bring the tv home and connect it just like I had it before with my older TV I hooked it up via HDMI through two different cables to test it out just in case. Keep in mind the only change in my room was from my older tv to this new model which I figured would produce a better picture since it has more contrast ratio and resolution. But for some reason games look real crappy on this TV. I am very dissapointed thinking I would be getting a great picture through my xbox that is set to output 1080p games look terrible It seems like there not sharp at all and the image looks distorted very dark and ugly. I dont know what is wrong with my setup I feel like my last TV looked better than this one. Which i know is impossible. So here I am now confused trying to figure out why im not blown away by an HD picture QUALITY. I also tried returning the piece back to bestbuy and explained to the rep that was helping me the issue I am describing to you no2, they even hook it up there right in front of me through HDMI playing a BluerayDisc Movie and it looked incredible. But I explained to him that gaming looks bad and that is what I was mainly going to be using it for. So he went ahead and exchanged the TV for me for the same model but im still having the same problem I am very upset that I have gone through this whole hassle but am unhappy with my display this TV is only a few weeks old. So now im unsure what is going on, I would very much appreciate if someone can get back to me on this issue I am having. Thank-you.

Is it possible to create your own MSN dynamic display pictures? I'm not sure whether this is possible. I got various flash tools and some free webspace if its needed, is there anyway of making this happen? I mean your own from scratch, not from a website where you can customise one online. Some instructions or a link to another website with info would be cool. Cheers :D

How do I save the pictures I take on msn with my Logitech webcam? So, it seems like the only program that i can use my webcam on is Windows Live Messenger. When I go to 'Change my display picture' , theres a selection of previous pictures ive had, then a few buttons like 'webcam picture' , 'dynamic picture' , 'browse' , 'remove' , and 'modify' . If so, where? and if not, how can I save them? thanks. :]

Why might my blu-ray movies display a grainy picture during play on my PS3? I am using a Monster HDMI cable and my PS3's native resolution is 1080. I've heard that the problem could be the TV, here are my TV's stats and let me know if any of these indicate why I obtain a grainy picture during blu-ray movies play. It's a Sony 40" Bravia LCD HDTVand is Full HD 1080p. The model number is KDL-40V2500. It has a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 7000:1 & Native On-Screen Contrast Ratio of 1300:1. Display runs at 60Hz and the response time is 8ms. My PS3's output resolution is 1080p so it's not that.

How should true patriots reclaim the media from Republican/Fascist interests? http://www.nowfoundation.org/issues/communications/tv/mediacontrol.html http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=fascism+in+america&btnG=Search ) Powerful and Continuing Nationalism: Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays. September 11 Freedom Walk New Majority Leader: Iraq War “May Be The Greatest Gift That We Give” Our Grandchildren Headstones of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan are inscribed with the Pentagons war-marketing slogans White House and the RNC are going to make a habit of using uniformed military personnel as props at Republican political rallies, despite the fact that it is a plain violation of military regulations banning politicization of the armed forces. "You must glorify war in order to get the public to accept the fact that your going to send their sons and daughters to die." The inside story of the cozy relationship between big box office American war movies and the Pentagon More... 2.) Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights: Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. Bush threatens to veto $442b defense bill if Congress investigates detainee abuses. Guantanamo Judge: “I don’t care about international law. I don’t want to hear the words ‘international law’ again. We are not concerned with international law.” Rumsfeld to approve new guidelines that will formalize the administration's policy of imprisoning without the protections of the Geneva Conventions and enable the Pentagon to legally hold "ghost detainees," US 'preparing to detain terror suspects for life without trial' U.S. oks evidence gained through torture July 1, 2003: U.S. Suspends Military Aid to Nearly 50 Countries: because they have supported the International Criminal Court and failed to exempt Americans from possible prosecution. US has at least 9000 prisoners in secret detention More... 3.) Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause: The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. Congressman: Muslims 'enemy amongst us' SB 24, Ohio law to muzzle "liberals" World history textbook used by seventh-graders at Scottsdale’s Mohave Middle School was pulled from classrooms mid-semester amid growing right criticism of the book’s unbiased portrayal of Islam Rallies planned against 'Islamofacism': Event to 'unify all Americans behind common goal' More... 4.) Supremacy of the Military: Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized. If you haven't seen the Oreo flash animation yet, see it here Bush’s Domestic Program Hit List Bush slashes domestic programs, boosts defense. Arlen Spector calls it "scandalous" Funding for job training, rural health care, low-income schools and help for people lacking health insurance would face big cuts under a bill passed Friday by the House Pentagon to spend 75 billion for three new brigades Three cable channels now feed news, information and entertainment about the armed services into millions of living rooms 24 hours a day, seven days a week: The Military Channel, the Military History Channel and the Pentagon Channel. More... 5.) Rampant Sexism: The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy. It's legal again, to fire gov't workers for being gay Bush calls for Constitutional ban on same-sex marriages Bush refuses to sign U.N proposal on women's "sexual" rights W. David Hager chairman of the FDA's Reproductive Health Drugs Advisory Committee does not prescribe contraceptives for single women, does not do abortions, will not prescribe RU-486 and will not insert IUDs. The State Department has awarded an explicitly anti-feminist U.S. group part of a US$10 million grant to train Iraqi women in political participation and democracy. More... 6.) Controlled Mass Media: Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common. FBI Acknowledges: Journalists Phone Records are Fair Game Report shows U.S. government has been engaged in illegal propaganda aimed at its own citizens and the story gets only 41 mentions in the media Free Press details recent governmental propaganda efforts, from faux-correspondent Jeff Gannon to paid-off pundit Armstrong Williams, and from the demise of FOIA to video news releases passed off as news. also... See a Whitehouse fake news release here (opens realplayer) US seizes webservers from independent media sites Bush's war on information: US editors forbidden to publish certain foreign writers More... 7.) Obsession with National Security: Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses Bush Aides ADMIT 'stoking fear' for political gain: Bush adviser said the president hopes to change the dynamics of the race. The strategy is aimed at stoking public fears about terrorism, raising new concerns about Kerry's ability to protect Americans and reinforcing Bush's image as the steady anti-terrorism candidate, aides said. The Bush administration periodically put the USA on high alert for terrorist attacks even though then-Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge argued there was only flimsy evidence to justify raising the threat level. Keith Olbermann: "The Nexus of Politics and Terror." Cheney warns that if Kerry is elected, the USA will suffer a "devastating attack" GOP convention in a nutshell (quicktime) Rove: GOP to Use Terror As Campaign Issue in 2006 More... 8.) Religion and Government are Intertwined: Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions. Jerry Falwell cleared of charges that he broke federal election law by urging followers to vote for Bush NC congressman proposes law making it ok to preach politics from the pulpit Texas Governor Mobilizes Evangelicals Family research council: Justice Sunday Thou shalt be like Bush: What makes this recently established, right-wing Christian college unique are the increasingly close - critics say alarmingly close - links it has with the Bush administration and the Republican establishment. Park Service Continues to Push Creationist Theory at Grand Canyon and other nat'l parks More... 9.) Corporate Power is Protected: The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. The K Street Project is a project by the Republican party to pressure Washington lobbying firms to hire Republicans in top positions, and to reward loyal GOP lobbyists with access to influential officials. It was launched in 1995, by Republican strategist Grover Norquist and House majority leader Tom DeLay. American Conservative Magazine: One U.S. contractor received $2 million in a duffel bag... and a U.S. official was given $7 million in cash in the waning days of the CPA and told to spend it “before the Iraqis take over.” There are 6 Congressional Committees investigating the Oil-for-Food (UN) scandal, yet not a single Republican Committee Chairman will call a hearing to investigate the whereabouts of 9 billion dollars missing in Iraq Bush money network rooted in Florida, Texas: Since Mr. Bush took office in 2001, the federal government has awarded more than $3 billion in contracts to the President's elite 2004 Texas fund-raisers, their businesses, and lobbying clients More... 10.) Labor Power is Suppressed: Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed. Labor Department warns unions against using their money politically President Bush Attacks Organized Labor: Bush attacked organized labor Saturday, issuing orders effectively reducing how much money unions can spend for political activities and opening up government contracts to non-union bidding. March 2001: President Bush signed his name to four executive orders on organized labor last month, including one that cuts the money unions will have for political campaign spending. Congress and the Department of Labor are trying to change the rules on overtime pay, eliminating the 40 hour work week, taking eligibility for overtime pay away from millions of workers, and replacing time and a half pay with comp days. More... 11.) Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts: Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts. Bush's new economic plan cuts funding for arts, education Artists from all over the world are being refused entry to the US on security grounds. A group of more than 60 top U.S. scientists, including 20 Nobel laureates and several science advisers to past Republican presidents, on Wednesday accused the Bush administration of manipulating and censoring science for political purposes Freedom of Repression: New ruling will allow censorship of campus publications More... 12.) Obsession with Crime and Punishment: Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations American Gestapo is here: "There is hereby created and established a permanent police force, to be known as the 'United States Secret Service Uniformed Division.'" America: secret jails, secret courts, secret arrests, and now secret laws Snitch-or-Go-to-Jail bill will make pretty much anything short of reporting on everyone you see for doing just about anything a jailable offense. With minimum sentences, up to and including life without parole. The problem with Gonzales is that he has been deeply involved in developing some of the most sweeping claims of near-dictatorial presidential power in our nation's history, allowing him to imprison and even (at least in theory) torture anyone in the world, at any time Police officers don't have to give a reason at the time they arrest someone, the U.S. Supreme Court said in a ruling that shields officers from false-arrest lawsuits. More... 13.) Rampant Cronyism and Corruption: Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. Bush Cronyism: Foxes Guarding the henhouse Making Sense of the Abramoff Scandal If Bush's pick is confirmed, that will mean the five top appointees at Justice have zero prosecutorial experience among them. Iran-Contra Felons Get Good Jobs from Bush Big Iraq Reconstruction Contracts Went To Big Donors Bush Wars -- Crooks Get Contracts : The main companies that were awarded billions of dollars worth of contracts in Iraq have paid more than $300 million in fines since 2000, to resolve allegations of fraud, bid rigging, delivery of faulty military equipment, and environmental damage. US Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) lost track of $9 billion "Contracting in the aftermath of the hurricanes has been marked by waste, corruption and cronyism" More... 14. Fraudulent Elections: Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections. Rolling Stone does some investigative and rather exhaustive digging into public documents and says we’re almost guaranteed the 2004 election results were massively rigged Powerful Government Accounting Office report confirms key 2004 stolen election findings Conyers hearing in which Clinton Curtis testifies that he was hired to create hackable voting machines (.wmv) The Republican Party has quietly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide private defense lawyers for a former Bush campaign official charged with conspiring to keep Democrats from voting in New Hampshire. The Conyers Report (.pdf) No explanation for the machines in Mahoning County that recorded Kerry votes for Bush, the improper purging in Cuyahoga County, the lock down in Warren County, the 99% voter turnout in Miami County, the machine tampering in Hocking County Less access than Kazakhstan. Fewer fail-safes than Venezuela. Not as simple Republic of Georgia. The 2004 Elections according to international observers. This picture is what stopped the ballot recounts in Florida shortly after it seemed that legitimate President Gore had a lead. The "citizens" started what was later called "the preppy riot". Screaming, yelling, pounding on the walls, these "outraged citizens" intimidated the polling officials to halt the court mandated recount. A closer look reveals who they really were. They were bussed and flown in at Republican lawmakers expense. Some even flew in on Tom Delay's private plane. More... They regard truthful reports that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction and was not involved in the September 11 attack on the US – truths now firmly established by the Bush administration’s own reports – as treasonous America-bashing. Fascism then. Fascism now? When people think of fascism, they imagine Rows of goose-stepping storm troopers and puffy-chested dictators. What they don't see is the economic and political process that leads to the nightmare. What is Fascism? Some General Ideological Features Hello. You are now living in a fascist empire Neo-fascism in America : Too many people believe fascism is only about goose-stepping, jack-booted Nazis. Too many people believe that American democracy is so strong that fascists could never take control of America. If you are sympathetic to those views, I invite you to consider the possibility that you are mistaken. It is in times of fascism rising that armies of ignorance are once more resuscitated from the bowels of a society bordering on the edge of mass psychosis. FFXI graphics are messed up...? I have installed both Warhammer online and FFXI on my Toshiba Satellite model A305-S6858 which has Vista on it. Warhammer looks fine however FFXI isn't looking correct with mostly the characters and mobs in the game. They flicker and appear to only show some of the colors or all the colors and parts of the character or mob are missing. I'm not sure what settings I need to change if I can to make this work correctly. I have installed the newest DirectX and video drivers and still not working properly and this is even after I reinstalled the OS. Which I did for other reason. I am probably giving more info than needed or maybe not enough.. However if someone can direct me the direction needed to get this solved I would be most greatful! Thanks ahead of time! Its a specail fix for the graphic issue I am having...so if anyone knows of where I can find it that would be great! Untill then I will keep searching. Thanks! A friend of mine found a link on intels site that has the 64 bit version downloadable. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2800&lang=eng If link wont work, just do the following: You go to Intels main page click downloads under work section. (takes you to a new window) Select "Graphics" on the left side Select "laptop graphic contollers" Select "Mobile Intel 965 express chipset family" (takes you to a new window) Just select the OS and go from there. As of last night they did have the vista home premium for downloading. I am not sure for the othe other os downloads. Hope this helps out! When I edit the question stating about the 64 bit driver being found, that was when I had the issue resolved... So thanks to you all for replying. Just glad I can play now with graphics back to normal.

One Laptop per Child: Sounds cool… Can you tell me what it can do? ? -> What the Program is: <- http://laptop.org/en/index.shtml Mission Statement: To create educational opportunities for the world's poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning. When children have access to this type of tool they get engaged in their own education. They learn, share, create, and collaborate. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future. -> My Question: <- Hi! I love the idea of this organization and I would LOVE to spend $200.00 and both get a laptop and give a laptop to someone in the 2nd and 3rd world but I’m wondering if it would be a computer that I could use or if I should give it to someone I know for x-mas. I’m VERY confused about what the specs are for this system and was wondering if you could help me figure our if the laptop could, say, run QuickBooks and Microsoft Word or if it is just a “Look Stuff Up” sort of “Toy” as apposed to something that I could work with. I’m NOT complaining… I’m just trying to figure out what it is capable of BEFORE I send the money because I want to know if it would be for ME or if I would give it to a friend or a friend’s child. If I can’t use the one they will send me, I will donate $100.00 to them just because I am so thrilled with their goals. (And since the new version comes out in 2010, I will donate NOW and buy then perhaps…) I saw about this organization back a year or two ago on 60 min’s… So I’m happy to see that they are still going strong!! Can i hook up an apple TV to my standard def. widescreen JVC TV? It is a JVC AV-30W475. it has the yellow, red, and white plugs. it also has an S-Video plug. according to amazon: JVC's silver, 30-inch AV-30W475 widescreen I'Art series TV is loaded with innovative home-theater features like black-level expansion and an Invar shadow mask to produce detailed, high-contrast images. With widescreen presentations such as DVD movies, a 30-inch picture is bigger than it might seem. If you're used to watching letterboxed movies on a 27-inch screen with a standard 4:3 aspect ratio, for instance, the resultant widescreen image is equivalent to that of a 24-inch 16:9 set. The AV-30W475's 30-inch screen gives you a widescreen picture that's 5 inches wider and 2.5 inches taller than the image you'd be seeing on a 27-inch set. The AV-30W475's 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). A shadow mask is a thin sheet of perforated metal behind the screen that restricts electron flow, each hole in the sheet corresponding to a single pixel. An Invar mask uses an alloy that's especially resistant to the high temperatures generated by the electron beam, allowing in a brighter, clearer picture. An apacon circuit further enhances low-level details for greater picture sharpness. The AV-30W475 also offers JVC's Natural Cinema 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, which lets you watch DVD-based movies in their native 24-frame format. Digital video mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; Natural Cinema digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture. The AV-30W475 receives not only stereo broadcasts, but Second Audio Programming (or SAP), too, and a Hyper Surround circuit simulates surround sound from any 2 speakers. BBE High-Definition Audio improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages. A set of component-video inputs accept video from compatible DVD players and satellite systems, while S-video and standard RCA composite-video inputs accommodate most other video sources. The set offers a total of 3 audio/video inputs, one of which is built into the side panel so you can hook up a VCR, camcorder, or gaming console. A rear-panel RF input accommodates older VCRs, cable boxes, and antennas. Want to listen through your stereo system? Use the set's stereo, fixed-level analog-audio outputs. A multifunction timer turns the TV on and off for you when you're not home or works as an alarm clock or program reminder; a sleep timer saves energy by turning off the set after you've nodded off. Other features include a half-tone onscreen display, channel guard and V-Chip parental controls, closed captioning with text display, XDS (Extended Data Service) auto clock set with ID display, and a full-function, universal remote with DVD control ability.

The display is very clear and the colors are very sharp, I thought it would seem small but it is just right. It is very light weight and I can use this anywhere like in the house or take it to school or work. The only drawback is the cd/dvd not being in it but I use my ipod so I get my music from there and I dont plan to watch any movies on this. If you need this for work school or travel this is perfect. I couldnt have asked for a better more convenient and reliable laptop :) The price is amazing, you cant get any better than this, I am very impressed, hope you buy this laptop, you won't regret it. She has been very happy with her new Aspire One. The LED-lit screen is obviously smaller than bigger laptops, but it is clear and bright. The keyboard takes a little time to get used to because the k

Why do my blu ray movies seem grainy when played on my PS3? I'm using a Monster HDMI cable. My HDTV is a Sony Bravia LCD TV with a native resolution of 1080p. The model number is KDL-40V2500. It has a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 7000:1 & Native On-Screen Contrast Ratio of 1300:1. Display runs at 60Hz and the response time is 8ms. I don't want to think my TV is the problem so hopefully it's not. The blu ray movies I've tried that showed a slightly grainy picture are 300 and Hostel part 2. The output resolution for my PS3 is 1080p. Tristan which are you talking about when you say "hold the power button...", the PS3 or my HDTV?

Is my T.V. compatable with the xbox 360 VGA cable? Now, theres been some speculation if i can or cannot. My T.V. is the Vizio 22" LCD T.V. ( VW22LHDTV10T ).. Here are its specs: Technology: TFT active matrix Diagonal Size: 22" - widescreen Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Progressive Scan: Progressive scanning (line doubling) Image Aspect Ratio: 16:10 Image Contrast Ratio: 1000:1 Viewing Angle: 160 degrees Viewing Angle (Vertical): 160 degrees Pixel Response Time: 5 ms Brightness: 300 cd/m2 Comb Filter: 3D digital Additional Features: 3:2 pull down compensation, 2:2 pull down compensation Display Format: 1080i V-Chip Control: Yes Color Depth: 24-bit (16.7 million colors) Display Menu Language: English, French, Spanish Pixel Pitch: 0.282 x 0.282mm Backlight Life: 50,000 hour(s) Now, my question is : Can i use the xbox 360 VGA cable, and if i can, will it improve my T.V's picture quality?.. and if not why? Why i am asking is because i have read and heard two different things. My friend has the Viewsonic: Diamani Duo HDTV/LCD combo ( NX2232w ).. and i have compared T.V.'s and all i have found different is that the viewsonic has a dynamic contrast ratio and static contrast ratio vs mine with just a static contrast ratio. They have the same resolution, image/contrast ratio and pixel response time. So if this could be cleared up that would be awesome.. thanks! - LeO Well, the reason for me asking is that because of the 16:10 image aspect ratio and 1680x1050 resolution is could not use the VGA cable... well in theory i could but it wouldint make a difference at all when it comes to picture quality... and would the VGA cable cut out all lag for online? like on halo or guitar hero?>

Also it is an 800 dollar t.v. but if i pay an extra 100 i can get a tv with 3 hdmi inputs and a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 which should i get and why. I am leaning toward the 100,000:1 because it is cheaper and almost the same but i dont know if the 100,00:1 is a good number for a plasma tv or not.(Will this provide a good picture?)

Can someone help me proofread my essay? I have to write a compare and contrast essay.? Plasma vs. LCD Tube televisions are now outdated! Sleek, thin, and sophisticated televisions fill the store shelves. Everyone at one time has admired the dramatic picture and awed at this exciting home entertainment. The two main flat screen televisions are Plasma and LCD. There are many characteristics to each individual flat screen television that should be taken into consideration when purchasing a unit. The big question is which one do you choose. The plasma television uses millions of tiny glass bubbles that light up the screen, just picture a ton of itty-bitty stoplights all in one place. The plasma has a vivid picture makes that makes a more natural picture. The colors on this type of television give accurate color consistency giving the consumer a dynamic television experience. Acquiring the plasma TV around the home would be beneficial if you have a cramped viewing area. Leaving the buyer with a wider viewing angle from any in the room without compromising the picture. Plasma televisions come in various sizes, but the minimal size is 37 inches and the largest size on the market is a whooping 103”. The 37” inch screen has a recommended viewing distance of approximately 6 to ten feet; you can sit however close you want. In other words, the bigger the better! The life span of a plasma TV depends on the daily usage and the brand. Most plasma brands lose about 4-5% of their brightness after about 1000 hours of usage. The plasma will eventually grow dimmer with usage. Now let us look at the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) televisions. These are made of glass like materials that are fused together. The LCD screens do not hold their own light; a light is needed to pass through the crystals to create an image on screen. The LCD picture has a lower contrast ratio, leaving the buyer with a “matte” image on screen but still giving a brighter picture over the plasma. The LCD gives a limited view from an angle leaving a loss in picture quality. Not every seat in the room will be a good seat. LCD’s also come in various sizes: as low as 7” and as: big as 82”. The 37” LCD has a recommended viewing distance of about 9’. Sitting too far from this screen will not diminish the viewing experience. The life spans of LCD TV’s are also durable and have a lot of longevity. Most LCD’s screens offer a life span of about 50,000 hours. The screen eventually will fade over time. Sometimes if the backlight is inoperative, your best bet is to purchase a new flat screen television. Now that a few of the facts are known about these televisions, I have to say easily. Plasma is the way to go. The plasma television is easier to watch; by sitting anywhere in the room, you are bound to get a good view of the screen. What can I say the picture is smooth, no curved edges, and the colors are natural looking, and vivid. Now, if you do not like the glossy look, go for the LCD. One disadvantage is the size. The plasmas don’t come in anything smaller than 37”, so if you are trying to put a screen in your car you would have to go with a LCD screen, bummer. Although the overall life of both televisions is about the same, but the fact of the matter is LCD televisions can easily burn out if not taken care of. Your best bet is to purchase a brand new, glossy, and shiny flat screen Plasma, and enjoy all that it has to offer.
